Marketing Manager

DESCRIPTION

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for all marketing of Trollhaugen’s brand and graphic design of marketing materials. Mediums include but are not limited to: Social Media, Print, Radio, Video, Brochures, In-House Promo, and Live On-Hill Reports. This leadership role is critical to the successful growth and development of the company. This is a hands-on position requiring at least a beginner level (or ability/desire to become a beginner level) skier and/or snowboarder.  As a member of the management team, the position assists in the development, communication and implementation of Trollhaugen’s goals and initiatives.  This is a full time, salaried position.

 GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1.    Maintain our social media presence online.

2.   Develop and design marketing material for both our brand and specific programs we offer.

3.   Ski/Snowboard our area at least once weekly.

4.   Work closely with General Manager on setting budgetary goals, and meeting those goals.

5.   Maintain a consistent line of communication with General Manager on all issues, opinions, ideas regarding all aspects of Trollhaugen’s operations.

6.   Represent Trollhaugen at industry specific functions and local community events as necessary to contribute operational expertise and value.

7.  Maintain and enhance a guest focused culture.

8.   Stay knowledgeable on legal issues and technological advances which impact the industry; maintain awareness of scope and progress of the industry.

9. Acts as Manager on Duty if needed.

10. Participate in weekly senior staff meetings.

12. Maintain and enhance a team-oriented culture with all departments and demonstrate a collaborative attitude.

13. Responsible for promoting a positive attitude within the organization.

14. Responsible for taking CHARGE in an EMERGENCY SITUATION.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Demonstrates excellent communication skills with all levels of employees, guests and all other outside contacts of Trollhaugen.

Must be a positive, upbeat, and charismatic person who is not afraid of getting in front of a camera.

Must be a self-starter; knowing how to organize and budget their time

Ability to work hands-on on all aspects of Trollhaugen operations.

Ability to move around all areas of the mountain and base facilities at all times of the year to review programs, on-hill product, and guest experience.

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

Abillity to work at least one Saturday or Sunday a week during winter months

COMPENSATION

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Fluent in Windows operating system, along with experience in Microsoft Word/Outlook/Excel.  Experience with Adobe Creative is also preferred.

Must be at least a beginner level skier or snowboarding (or be willing to learn)

Must possess a valid driver's license. 

 

$48,000-$55,000 annually

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Trollhaugen Ski Area, located in Dresser, WI, featuring downhill skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing with 26 runs, 3 chair lifts, 6 rope tows, and a conveyor lift. 280' vertical, groomed trails, a restaurant, snack bar, adult and children programs, and rentals.  Summer operations include a 120-element aerial challenge course and a 6-line Zip Line Tour.  Trollhaugen is a family owned business with most managers having worked for 10+ years. 

Dresser, WI is located in the St. Croix Valley, near the St. Croix River, 50 minutes Northeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul.
